  • Potato Peak Hike in the Bodie Hills

    Join Friends of the Inyo’s Policy Director Jora Fogg and Bodie Hills Conservation Partnership’s Executive Director April Sall on a hike to Potato Peak, high point of the Bodie Hills. Enjoy a great hike and learn more about the wonders of this region on this moderately strenuous 4 mile round trip excursion. More information available on the Bodie Hills website.   • Owens River Water Trail Project

    The Owens River Water Trail Project envisions a boater's paradise along a six-mile stretch of the Lower Owens River outside of Lone Pine. With ADA-accessible put-in and take-out points where all people can float, fish, and swim, this scenic Water Trail will be the first of its kind in California. Because the Owens River does not flood annually, islands of muck, tule reeds, and cottonwood logs build up in the channel and obstruct navigation.     Friday Night market in Bishop with Friends of the Inyo Join Friends of the Inyo and many more vendors at the second Bishop Friday Night market.  The last event was a blast, and this market should be even better.     Visit Friends of the Inyo at Picnic for the Planet Inyo 350 lined up great speakers, food, music, and games and activities for kids and folks of all ages. Please come to the Picnic for the Planet in the City Park this Saturday! Speakers will kick-off the Picnic just after 10 AM. You’ll hear from Caelen McQuilkin, Eric Leitch (astrophysicist! and active community member), Jeff Griffiths (county supervisor), Phill Kiddoo, and Maria Kemp.     We NEED your help protecting sage grouse Make an impact Bodie Hills conservation partnership and the the BLM need help removing fencing to free sage grouse, pronghorn, and other wildlife habitat.   • Great Sierra River Cleanup

    Join Eastern Sierra Land Trust, the Sierra Club, and Friends of the Inyo on Saturday, September 15th as we partner with organizations throughout the Sierra in the Great Sierra River Cleanup (GSRC). The GSRC is a statewide volunteer event that focuses on removing trash from Sierra Nevada waterways. We are leading a special effort to clean up trash from the island in the middle of South Lake!
