  • Join us for a Volunteer Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness!

    Join Friends of the Inyo and the Forest Service for a Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness from July 24-28, 2025! What? Volunteers will work on dismantling obsolete fencing and other debris in Brown Meadow, located along a tributary of the South Fork of the Kern River. Volunteers hike in 3.5 miles on 7/24 and spend 4 nights camped along Brown Meadow, a scenic and historic area in the Golden Trout Wilderness, home of the California state fish, the Golden Trout.   • Great Sierra River Clean Up

    Join Friends of the Inyo, the Eastern Sierra Land Trust, the Sierra Nevada Alliance, and other host sites throughout the Sierra Nevada for the Great Sierra River Cleanup (GSRC) on Saturday, September 20th, 2025. GSRC is a Sierra-wide watershed cleanup event coordinated by Sierra Nevada Alliance in collaboration with California’s Coastal Cleanup Day. In 2024, 46,201 volunteers removed 398,654 pounds (199 tons) of trash from the Sierra Nevada waterways and across the state’s entire coastline.
