    Join Friends of the Inyo and the Inyo National Forest for a cleanup of Rock Creek Lake and nearby trails. We'll focus on removing trash and fishing line from the shoreline and surrounding areas to help protect this special place for people and wildlife alike.   • Join us for a Volunteer Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness!

    Join Friends of the Inyo and the Forest Service for a Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness from July 24-28, 2025! What? Volunteers will work on dismantling obsolete fencing and other debris in Brown Meadow, located along a tributary of the South Fork of the Kern River. Volunteers hike in 3.5 miles on 7/24 and spend 4 nights camped along Brown Meadow, a scenic and historic area in the Golden Trout Wilderness, home of the California state fish, the Golden Trout.   • Join us for a Volunteer Wilderness Week in the White Mountains!

    Join Friends of the Inyo and the Forest Service for a Wilderness Week in the White Mountains from August 21 - 24, 2025! What? Volunteers will build low-tech stream restoration structures in Davis Creek Meadow and perform trail maintenance on Boundary Peak Trail.  Who? Inyo County locals or those from further afield are welcome to join this project.     What is Flash Foxy? The Flash Foxy Trad Fest is a three-day climbing event for women and genderqueer climbers of all ages. Though we're no strangers to hosting events on the East Side, this is our first year in Mammoth Lakes, CA, and we're excited to be on the East Side for an epic weekend of community building, skill sharing, and play!   • Great Sierra River Clean Up

    Join Friends of the Inyo, the Eastern Sierra Land Trust, the Sierra Nevada Alliance, and other host sites throughout the Sierra Nevada for the Great Sierra River Cleanup (GSRC) on Saturday, September 20th, 2025. GSRC is a Sierra-wide watershed cleanup event coordinated by Sierra Nevada Alliance in collaboration with California’s Coastal Cleanup Day. In 2024, 46,201 volunteers removed 398,654 pounds (199 tons) of trash from the Sierra Nevada waterways and across the state’s entire coastline.
