Volunteer Work-Week: Golden Trout Wilderness Fence Removal

Join Friends of the Inyo and the USFS on a Volunteer Work-Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness! When: August 1st through 5th This is a 5 day 4 night overnight remote trip. Participants must have their own camping gear and be familiar with Backcountry hiking and camping. What: Remove defunct grazing structures from alpine meadows We will be hiking to and from our worksite daily, dismantling fence structures, and hauling materials to an extraction point. National Trails Day: Buttermilk Fens Buck and Rail Fence Installation: Postponed

Join Friends of the Inyo and the Inyo National Forest for a Buck and Rail fence installation project. The aim is to protect sensitive riparian Fens/Water drainages out beyond the Buttermilks Boulders from OHV and Grazing.   When: This event has been postponed Saturday, June 1st @ 8:30AM until mid/late afternoon (12-1PM)   What: We will be carpooling out to the worksite and installing Buck and Rail barriers to keep livestock and vehicles out of sensitive habitat. Flash Foxy Trailfest Clean-Up

The inaugural Flash Foxy Trailfest will culminate with a grand trash clean-up event in the Mammoth Lakes Basin. We’re partnering with Flash Foxy and the Inyo National Forest to do some good clean-up work around the many lakes in this heavily utilized area. Join us at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, at a to-be-determined location in the Mammoth Lakes Basin to pick up gloves, trash-picker-uppers, and a trash bag before you get out and give back to your beloved public lands!   The fifth annual Flash Foxy Climbing Festival will culminate in a grand stewardship extravaganza in Pine Creek, the Volcanic Tablelands, and around the Bishop area. We’re partnering with Flash Foxy, the Bishop BLM, the Inyo National Forest, the Bishop Climbing Rangers, the Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association, and the Bishop Area Climber’s Coalition to restore these areas, both world-renowned climbing destinations and sites of cultural significance for the Bishop Paiute Tribe.
