Volunteer Work-Week: Golden Trout Wilderness Fence Removal
August 1 - August 5
FreeJoin Friends of the Inyo and the USFS on a Volunteer Work-Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness!
When: August 1st through 5th
This is a 5 day 4 night overnight remote trip. Participants must have their own camping gear and be familiar with Backcountry hiking and camping.
What: Remove defunct grazing structures from alpine meadows
We will be hiking to and from our worksite daily, dismantling fence structures, and hauling materials to an extraction point. This is all-day, manual labor! While we do make time to have fun, we are also there to get work done.
Where: Tunnel Meadow in the Golden Trout Wilderness
The hike to/from our project site is about 12 miles from the Horseshoe Meadow Trailhead. While all of our tools and camping gear will be hauled in by pack mules, we will still be on foot with our daypacks for the entire 12 miles.
Space is limited, so reserve your spot ASAP! To register email Lindsay@friendsoftheinyo.org
