    Calling all volunteers! This popular trail has gotten overgrown and needs a little love. Because the loop is 3 miles, we can't get this project done alone!     What is Flash Foxy? The Flash Foxy Trad Fest is a three-day climbing event for women and genderqueer climbers of all ages. Though we're no strangers to hosting events on the East Side, this is our first year in Mammoth Lakes, CA, and we're excited to be on the East Side for an epic weekend of community building, skill sharing, and play!   • Great Sierra River Clean Up

    Join Friends of the Inyo, the Eastern Sierra Land Trust, the Sierra Nevada Alliance, and other host sites throughout the Sierra Nevada for the Great Sierra River Cleanup (GSRC) on Saturday, September 20th, 2025. GSRC is a Sierra-wide watershed cleanup event coordinated by Sierra Nevada Alliance in collaboration with California’s Coastal Cleanup Day. In 2024, 46,201 volunteers removed 398,654 pounds (199 tons) of trash from the Sierra Nevada waterways and across the state’s entire coastline.     It will be a serious Sunday stewardship day this coming Oct. 12th, for anyone who cares to join the Keep Long Valley Green Coalition and Friends of the Inyo for a highway cleanup from 10 AM to 1 PM. In order to have our beautiful Keep Long Valley Green sign on US 395 by Crowley Lake, we have to clean up the area twice a year.     Join us for a day of stewardship restoring a user-created path near the Pat Keyes trailhead. The day will be spent raking away tire tracks and vertical mulching (planting dead vegetation upright to create a physical and visual barrier to travel). Join us for the BLM's largest planting project and the keystone Alabama Hills restoration project of 2026!  The BLM has 115 plants to put in the ground and we need your help to plant them! The Alabama Hills Stewardship Group has generously offered to water the plants after they're planted, helping them thrive and act as natural seed catches for a flourishing desert ecosystem.
