Flash Foxy Trailfest Clean-Up

The inaugural Flash Foxy Trailfest will culminate with a grand trash clean-up event in the Mammoth Lakes Basin. We’re partnering with Flash Foxy and the Inyo National Forest to do some good clean-up work around the many lakes in this heavily utilized area. Join us at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, at a to-be-determined location in the Mammoth Lakes Basin to pick up gloves, trash-picker-uppers, and a trash bag before you get out and give back to your beloved public lands! Fire & Ice Interpretive Hike in Lee Vining Canyon w/ Jean Redle – 7/1/22

Fire and Ice: a land of contrasts The Sierra Nevada and the Mono Basin have been sculpted by volcanoes, glaciations and wildfires. Explore the changing environment and mining history on a 4 hour walk from Junction Campground (between Tioga Pass Resort and Ellery Lake off the Tioga Road) to Bennetville Mine to Fantail Lake. Hike is 3.72 miles long (round trip), with 474 feet of vertical gain. Bring lunch, water and layers. Space on this hike is limited to 12 folks. RSVP below today to secure your spot!

Volunteer Backcountry Stewardship Week | Cottonwood Creek

  Join Friends of the Inyo and the White Mountain Ranger District of the Inyo National Forest for a spectacular three days of stewardship in the White Mountains Wilderness. We'll be working to restore roads in Wilderness and removing obsolete cattle exclosures, and we'll also save plenty of time for hiking, sharing stories, and enjoying a beautiful place. Water: The Giver of Life in the Sierra Nevada Come hike with Trail Ambassador Bradley Olson up Virginia Lakes Canyon and learn about the hydrology of the Sierra Nevada. Discussions will include how water has played a pivotal role in shaping the Sierra in the past, created the many ecosystems we see today, and how crucial water will be to the area in the future.
