Ring in summer in the high country with the ninth annual June Lake Trails Day! We’ll meet you with coffee and breakfast at the June Lake Community Center at 8:30am on Saturday, June 23. After a fun morning of maintaining popular trails and picking up trash and fishing line around the lakes, the event will wrap up at 12:30 with lunch and prize giveaways including a June Mountain Season Pass, Patagonia gear and gift certificates from local businesses. Join Melissa, a Friends of the Inyo Trail Ambassador, as she takes you on a journey through the Sierra's water history and hydrology along the Kearsarge Pass Trail out of Independence. Meet at 10AM at the Kearsarge Pass Trailhead. Bring water, sunscreen, snacks, layers, and appropriate footwear for hiking. The length of the walk will depend on group consensus (but be prepared to be out for at least two hours). The Kearsarge Pass Trail is moderately strenuous.
