Conglomerate Mesa Mineral Exploration Report with Pete Dronkers – FREE

March 24, 2022 from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Friends of the Inyo and the Conglomerate Mesa Coalition for a virtual (Zoom) evening presentation by Pete Dronkers, author of Conglomerate Mesa Mineral Exploration: Potential Future Mining Scenarios and Impacts. This report is an in-depth analysis of what a large-scale mining operation would look like at Conglomerate Mesa. The report has been peer-reviewed and examines the geology of the region to better characterize the size and scope of a future mine, as well as its potential long-term environmental liabilities, by comparing its geology to similar existing mines in Nevada.

Pete Dronkers has over a decade of experience analyzing the environmental impact and long-term risk associated with the hard-rock mining and oil and gas sectors, primarily in Alaska, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Working for organizations such as Earthworks, Northern Alaska Environmental Center, and Environment Nevada has given him a deep understanding of both mining and desert ecosystems. He has worked with expert geochemists, hydrologists, geophysicists, and environmental toxicologists to file technical comments, appeals, and develop models related to environmental performance, primarily at proposed mine sites.

Pete will give a presentation on the report followed by an opportunity to ask questions. This is a FREE event and everyone is welcome.
