  • Stroll and Sketch: A Free and Artsy Interpretive Walk in Lundy Canyon

    Take a hike amongst aspen groves, wildflowers, and waterfalls while stopping to observe and sketch the surrounding beauty. No art experience needed—just a sense of curiosity! Details Meeting Location: Lundy Canyon Trailhead. GPS Coordinates: 38.02246, -119.26193 Hike Duration: 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Sunday, September 14th. Please arrive a few minutes early. The Trail is 0.5 miles one way with 200ft of elevation gain and loss. There will be several stops for sketching!  Participants will be provided with a sketch book, pencils, pens, and colored pencils.   • Great Sierra River Clean Up

    Join Friends of the Inyo, the Eastern Sierra Land Trust, the Sierra Nevada Alliance, and other host sites throughout the Sierra Nevada for the Great Sierra River Cleanup (GSRC) on Saturday, September 20th, 2025. GSRC is a Sierra-wide watershed cleanup event coordinated by Sierra Nevada Alliance in collaboration with California’s Coastal Cleanup Day. In 2024, 46,201 volunteers removed 398,654 pounds (199 tons) of trash from the Sierra Nevada waterways and across the state’s entire coastline.     It will be a serious Sunday stewardship day this coming Oct. 12th, for anyone who cares to join the Keep Long Valley Green Coalition and Friends of the Inyo for a highway cleanup from 10 AM to 1 PM. In order to have our beautiful Keep Long Valley Green sign on US 395 by Crowley Lake, we have to clean up the area twice a year.
