Sept. 24 is Nat’l. Public Lands Day – Show your love for Lundy Canyon Trail by volunteering with Friends of the Inyo!
September 24, 2022 from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
Free
Join us for National Public Lands Day as we give back together to our public lands on Saturday September 24th, in partnership with the US Forest Service!
Meet at the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center in Lee Vining between 8:30 and 9 a.m. for registration (scroll down for address and map details). Then, beginning at 9, Friends of the Inyo Trail Ambassador Jean Redle will lead a group in lopping overgrown brush on the Lundy Canyon Trail. Loppers and gloves will be provided. Please wear sunglasses or eye protection. As always, social distancing and mask wearing is encouraged. All ages are welcome. Dress in layers, bring sunscreen, closed-toed shoes, hat, water and snacks.
There will also be educational activities for children, including a Junior Ranger program, coloring station and science experiments! Smokey Bear and Forest Service Firefighters and Rangers will be present as well, so bring the young ones and the young at heart!
More information can be found at Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center Stewardship Day | NEEF (neefusa.org).
We hope to see lots of people volunteering or learning about this special day and the partners who help make the Mono Basin Scenic Area what it is today!
