FREE Screening of ‘Without Water’ together with a celebration of life for Water Activist Monty Bengochia Oct. 5 in Lone Pine

Join the Keep Long Valley Green Coalition (of which Friends of the Inyo is a leading member) Wednesday evening, October 5, at 6:30 p.m., for a FREE screening of the documentary film Without Water, which features impassioned comments from long-time Eastern Sierra Water Activist Monty Bengochia, who recently passed away. The screening will also be part of a Celebration of Life to honor Monty. The screening/life celebration will take place at the Museum of Western Film History, 701 S. Main Street, in Lone Pine. No RSVP is required.

INYO350 & Friends of the Inyo Will Host a District 1 Supervisor’s Race Candidate Forum on Oct. 12

The November election is drawing closer and it is good for voters to make informed choices as they prepare to case their ballots.  INYO350 and Friends of the Inyo are partnering to sponsor a Candidate Forum for the District 1 Inyo County Supervisor’s race on Wednesday, October 12. The event will start at 6:00 PM at the Cerro Coso Community College, Bishop Campus, at 4090 W. Line Street. June Lake Trails Day 2023

This year's annual June Lake Trails Day will be hosted on Saturday June 24th.   WHEN: Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 8:30am to 12:30pm WHERE: Meet at the June Lake Community Center Parking Lot/June Lake Community Park. WHAT: Join us for a fun morning of maintaining popular trails and picking up trash and fishing line around the June Lake Loop. Free lunch and prize giveaways! Pop-Up Stewardship: Mammoth Lakes Cleanup

Come one, come all: Friends of the Inyo needs you! Bring your friends, bring your kids, bring a stranger? Friends of the Inyo is hosting a pop-up cleanup event in Mammoth Lakes this Friday, June 30th. We will be meeting at the Mammoth Lakes Branch Library at 9am and dispersing throughout the trashiest trails of town till noon. Trash Grabbers, Gloves, and Bags will be provided. With access to nature—a costly affair—already a challenge for Latinos, cashless access to national parks represents still another barrier for ubanked Latinos to enjoy the great outdoors.
