Take a stroll along the Upper Rock Creek Canyon trail with Lindsay and learn about the major mammals of the Eastern Sierra Nevada. If you're lucky, you might even see a critter or two! This hike is a moderate 2 miles of trail that wanders beside the creek, beyond the East Fork campground. Take in the Mammoth Lakes Basin with Will and learn about the geology of the Eastern Sierra Nevada. This is a moderate 1.2 miles round trip hike with 375 feet of elevation gain. Meet at Heart Lake Trailhead the north end of the Duck Pass Trailhead parking lot in the Mammoth Lakes Basin.   When: hike starts at 9:00 and will wrap up around 11:30-12:00.  Bring sturdy shoes, snacks, water, hat, sunglasses, binoculars if you use them and any other essentials for a few hours of hiking.  Space on this hike is limited to 12 folks. Explore all facets of the history of the highest mountain in the contiguous United States, Mt Whitney. Cordero will lead you on a hike as he shares information and insights into the flora, fauna, and rich human and natural history of this peak known around the world. Meet at 9 AM at Whitney Portal, near the Meysan Lakes Trailhead for a moderate hike lasting roughly 3 hours. Fire and Ice: A Land of Contrasts- Interpretive Hike with Jean at McGee Creek

Come join our White Mountain Ranger District- Trail Ambassador Jean, on an interpretive hike along McGee Creek. Description: The Sierra Nevada and the Mono Basin have been sculpted by volcanoes, glaciations and wildfires. Explore the changing environment on a 3 hour walk making our way up the McGee Creek trail. This trail is moderate although it does gain elevation.
