Climate Change and Sierra Meadows
August 14, 2018 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Meadows make up a tiny portion of the Sierra Nevada, but they may have a vital role to play in our region’s future. Join David, a Friends of the Inyo Trail Ambassador, for an exploration of meadows along the Duck Pass Trail, and a glimpse of how climate change may transform our treasured landscapes.
Meet David at the Duck Pass Trailhead at Coldwater Creek Campground in the Mammoth Lakes Basin at 10AM. Bring water, sunscreen, snacks, layers, and appropriate footwear for hiking. The length of the walk will depend on group consensus (but be prepared to be out for at least two hours). The Duck Pass Trail is moderately strenuous.
