DESCRIPTION:Fire and Ice: a land of contrasts\nThe Sierra Nevada and the Mono Basin have been sculpted by volcanoes\, glaciations and wildfires. \nExplore the changing environment and mining history on a 4 hour walk from Junction Campground (between Tioga Pass Resort and Ellery Lake off the Tioga Road) to Bennetville Mine to Fantail Lake. Hike is 3.72 miles long (round trip)\, with 474 feet of vertical gain. \nBring lunch\, water and layers. \n\nSpace on this hike is limited to 12 folks.
