SUMMARY:Join us for a Volunteer Wilderness Week in the White Mountains!
DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of the Inyo and the Forest Service for a Wilderness Week in the White Mountains from August 21 – 24\, 2025!\nWhat? Volunteers will build low-tech stream restoration structures in Davis Creek Meadow and perform trail maintenance on Boundary Peak Trail. \n \nWho? Inyo County locals or those from further afield are welcome to join this project. The project will include hiking and manual labor\, so volunteers should be have good physical fitness and be generally comfortable with high elevation and physically strenuous work. \nWhat do volunteers need to bring? FOI and USFS will provide all tools\, but volunteers need to bring their own camping equipment (tent\, sleeping bag\, sleeping pad\, etc.)\, food\, cookware\, and appropriate clothing. Clothing includes sturdy hiking boots\, long sleeves\, long pants\, and appropriate gear for potential rain. Waterproof boots are strongly recommended for working on streams. Bear-resistant cans for storage will be provided.
