    Come join White Mountain District Trail Ambassador, Jean, on a hike up East Fork of Rock Creek where you'll learn about, and potentially find, some medicinal-edibile flora.   • Stroll and Sketch: A Free and Artsy Interpretive Walk in Lundy Canyon

    Take a hike amongst aspen groves, wildflowers, and waterfalls while stopping to observe and sketch the surrounding beauty. No art experience needed—just a sense of curiosity! Details Meeting Location: Lundy Canyon Trailhead. GPS Coordinates: 38.02246, -119.26193 Hike Duration: 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Sunday, July 17th. Please arrive a few minutes early.   • Rock Creek Lake Clean Up

    Join Friends of the Inyo and the Inyo National Forest for a cleanup of Rock Creek Lake and nearby trails. We'll focus on removing trash and fishing line from the shoreline and surrounding areas to help protect this special place for people and wildlife alike. Discover some of the oldest living trees on Earth and learn how these ancient giants have adapted to their harsh, high-elevation home.   • Join us for a Volunteer Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness!

    Join Friends of the Inyo and the Forest Service for a Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness from July 24-28, 2025! What? Volunteers will work on dismantling obsolete fencing and other debris in Brown Meadow, located along a tributary of the South Fork of the Kern River. Volunteers hike in 3.5 miles on 7/24 and spend 4 nights camped along Brown Meadow, a scenic and historic area in the Golden Trout Wilderness, home of the California state fish, the Golden Trout.
