Join us for a Volunteer Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness!

Join Friends of the Inyo and the Forest Service for a Wilderness Week in the Golden Trout Wilderness from July 24-28, 2025! What? Volunteers will work on dismantling obsolete fencing and other debris in Brown Meadow, located along a tributary of the South Fork of the Kern River. Volunteers hike in 3.5 miles on 7/24 and spend 4 nights camped along Brown Meadow, a scenic and historic area in the Golden Trout Wilderness, home of the California state fish, the Golden Trout. Join Friends of the Inyo and the Forest Service for a Wilderness Week in the White Mountains from August 21 - 24, 2025! What? Volunteers will build low-tech stream restoration structures in Davis Creek Meadow and perform trail maintenance on Boundary Peak Trail.  Who? Inyo County locals or those from further afield are welcome to join this project.
