On behalf of Friends of the Inyo, we hope you are healthy and taking care of yourself and your community during this difficult time. We understand the responsibility that we have to do our part to help slow the spread of this virus and we will continue to prioritize the health and well-being of our employees, members, and community.

We are fortunate at Friends of the Inyo that we are able to carry on our work on all of our campaigns. We have taken steps to keep our staff and community safe by closing our office. FOI staff are working from home conducting conferences and meetings via phone or video connection.

As directed by authorities, we are also taking action to eliminate in-person gatherings. Here is our list of events through May that are being affected:

*Paid registrants of the 2020 Owens Lake Bird Festival will receive instructions via email this week regarding the cancellation and refund process.

Finally, we encourage you to look to reliable sources like the Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization, and your local health department for information and protocols to protect yourself and your communities.

During this uncertain time, we at Friends of the Inyo continue our dedicated work toward protecting the public lands of the Eastern Sierra and we appreciate your support.

Sincerely,

Wendy Schneider
Executive Director
