Mammoth Nordic Grooming

Mammoth Lakes Nordic Trail System

For the 2015-2016 winter season, in partnership with the Town of Mammoth Lakes and the Inyo National Forest, Friends of the Inyo will be providing grooming on the winter trail system established through the hard work of Mammoth Nordic. Meandering through Old and New Shady Rest campgrounds, this groomed, non-motorized winter trail system is open to skate skiers, classic striders, snowshoers, and walkers. This free winter trail system can be accessed by parking in the upper parking lot at the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center and a short walk to the trailhead right in front of the visitors center. In partnership with the Town of Mammoth Lakes and the Inyo National Forest, Friends of the Inyo plans to provide grooming five days a week from December 15 to March 15 depending on snow conditions with funding from Measure R. For grooming updates, follow Friends of the Inyo on Facebook. A map of the groomed system can be downloaded below.
