Friends of the Inyo relies on a small staff and volunteers to help care for and protect the Eastern Sierra's public lands. We currently have the following positions available in the office and on our seasonal field crews. Friends of the Inyo’s Stewardship Crew supports the Inyo National Forest, the Bishop BLM, the Ridgecrest BLM, and other partners by implementing restoration and monitoring programs. The crew works throughout the Eastern Sierra in both frontcountry and backcountry locations. Work includes frontcountry road restoration in places like the Volcanic Tablelands and Glass Creek, WSA monitoring in the Bodie Hills, maintaining wilderness trails in places like the Ansel Adams and Golden Trout Wilderness, and working with volunteers at events like June Lake Trails Day. The Crew will assist in facilitating multi-day volunteer trail work in the backcountry as well. The crew is based out of Bishop. See the job description for more details.
