And there are other ways to join us!
Volunteer
Friends of the Inyo's volunteer stewardship programs let you give back while getting out on the lands you love. Volunteerism is the backbone of Friends of the Inyo; our hundreds of volunteers give their valuable time to help maintain and restore public lands. Opportunities range from single-day projects in the Buttermilk or Mammoth Lakes Basin to weeklong backcountry trips spanning nearly a week to solo monitoring and campsite inventory. Check the calendar to find out about upcoming volunteer opportunities, or email explore@friendsoftheinyo.org.
Become a Business Sponsor
Public lands are an asset to our businesses, our lifestyle and our community. If you're a business owner and want to invest in sustainable tourism and the health of Eastern Sierra public lands, consider supporting the Friends of the Inyo stewardship through a Business Sponsorship. All business sponsors get a listing and link on our website and a listing in our newsletter. Here are the suggested donation levels:
- $250 - Includes one Jeffrey Pine Journal business-card display a year
- $500 - Includes two Jeffrey Pine Journal business-card displays per year
- $1000 - Includes one stewardship event sponsorship per year and two business-card displays in the JPJ
In-kind donations from businesses are always welcome as well, including raffle prizes, tools, equipment and supplies.
Business supporters may additionally donate to the 1% for the Planet program. Friends of the Inyo is approved to receive donations through the this program, and meets their strict criteria for credibility and effectiveness.
